The challenges in the planning and production of powertrain variants in automotive engineering continue to grow: Up to now, these have been mainly performance and equipment-related variants, but in the future they will also include hybrid, purely electric and hydrogen powertrains. Here, the ability to plan the variance right down to the bill of materials at an early stage is of particular importance. This is the only way to avoid costs, and it offers great potential.

Objective

Objective

  • Rapid provision of the required data via interfaces to the Complexity Manager to be programmed

Approach

Approach

  • Identification of the relevant data, stored in several in-house individual systems
  • Programming of the interface for automatic provision of the required data
  • Implementation of the process

Results

Results

  • Capability for daily updated data retrieval via interface in the Complexity Manager
  • Consistent variant analysis and planning based on current data is ensured
