Although numerous projects and installed pull-through annealing plants showed a high degree of similarity, plant components could rarely be reused 1:1 in the past years. Our task was to design plant architecture and components in such a way that a significantly higher degree of reuse of plant components and parts would result.

Objective

Objective

  • Configuration of a market-driven portfolio for pull-through quenching and tempering systems
  • Higher degree of reuse of plant components and parts

Approach

Approach

  • Plant modularization and component structuring
  • Modular design and standardization of plant subsystems and components

Results

Results

  • Ability to configure customer-specific systems from a modular system
  • Acceleration of quotation preparation and order processing as well as improved cost transparency
  • Significantly increased degree of reuse; reduction of costs through economies of scale
